Since we opened a new delivery center in India earlier this year, we have been hiring and training new staff. With operations stabilized, we are pleased to announce that we will be modifying our labor rates. “India offers us more talent than we were able to secure in Portland. And with 8 months of reduced costs, we can safely pass our savings onto our customers,” remarked Prospus president and founder Marc Ragsdale.
Before shifting operations to India, Ragsdale was already familiar with India. He first traveled to India in 2004 after his university studies and returned multiple times. In 2008, he decided to move his consultancy there to take advantage of the deep labor pool. “India is a technology powerhouse,” said Ragsdale in a speech he recently gave at the University of Jaipur. “If you aren’t in India, partnered with Indians, or planning to expand in India, then you won’t be able to compete in IT,” he added.
As predicted, shifting our operations center to India has both improved our delivery quality and reduced costs. The larger labor market and lower salaries have allowed us to expand into mobile development faster. In the first quarter of 2012, we plan to announce around-the-clock chat-based technical support as well as dedicated support agents to staff our client’s websites. “Although shifting operations to India was a tough decision, we can see now that it was the best decision,” Ragsdale shared with remaining American staff members.
We will publish our revised 2012 labor rates on January 1, 2012. If you would like a copy, please send an email to solutions@prospus.com. If you are our current customer, or have already joined our newsletter, you will receive our labor rates through email.
