Job Overview
The Quality Analyst (QA) / Senior Quality Analyst (Sr. QA) plays a critical role in ensuring product quality and seamless user experience. This role involves planning, executing, and managing manual and automated testing processes to identify and resolve software issues. The Senior QA will additionally lead test planning, implement advanced testing methodologies, and mentor junior team members.
Responsibilities
- Test Planning & Execution:
- Create and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Conduct functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
- Develop and maintain automated testing scripts for efficiency.
- Defect Management:
- Identify, document, and prioritize defects.
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work with product managers and developers to understand project requirements.
- Actively participate in sprint planning and stand-up meetings.
- Mentorship & Leadership (for Sr. QA):
- Guide and support junior QA team members.
- Take ownership of QA deliverables for complex projects.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain clear and comprehensive test reports and quality metrics.
- Document and share best practices and lessons learned.
Skills
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in automation tools (e.g., Selenium, TestNG) and API testing tools (e.g., Postman).
- Familiarity with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter) and Agile development processes.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving abilities with an eye for detail.
- Effective communication skills to convey complex testing scenarios.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in cloud-based platforms, microservices architecture, and SQL for backend validations.
- Knowledge of testing tools and project management platforms like Jira.
Experience
3-7 years of QA experience, exposure to automation testing is a plus.
